Take a natural, subtle approach to coastal style, using pebble shades of pale grey, sand and stone over red, white and blue. Focus on sandy tones, and breaking waves for a subtle alternative to the traditional nautical style. Instead of using accents of reds, whites and blue, use a background of stone, pebble and beige then capture the seaside by introducing grey-blues through furniture and home furnishings. For a bright feel, go for white or off-white walls and white-painted furniture. Use sea blues to add warmth to the scheme and compliment it with neutrals.
