The colour of Spring 2013 – Lemon Sorbet!

Last Spring I chose mint as the colour for the season and 2013 is no exception to a lovely palette of colours out there. Spring 2013 sees the emergence of a softer colour palette and one colour in particular – Lemon Sorbet. This colour, like many pastels, evokes a sense of nostalgia and commonly represents optimism. Soft yellow hues pairs well with similarly cool tones such as soft greys, pale blues and mint greens and even bright raspberry for a pop of colour.

Pastel yellows are uplifting and fresh and is perfect for Spring! Lemon sorbet can be used in various ways to achieve the scheme you desire. Use it to create a calm and peaceful retreat, or pair it with a contrasting colour to create an energetic space. Even in a neutral environment small doses can refresh your homes palette. Soft yellows have a feminine feel to them and for those who think that yellow walls are too much then consider lemon coloured accessories. Incorporate it with throws, pillows, rugs and painted furniture in pastel yellow to add the perfect touch.
