100th Post: Duck Egg!
Today I am happy because this is officially my 100th post! Yay! Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read my blog and hello to the new followers I have got this week!
When I am at work I often notice that one particular colour is popular with all ages: duck egg! Duck egg blue has been a classic choice for interiors over recent years and for good reason. Blues are often chosen for there calming qualities and are associated with light and space, perhaps thats why they are so popular? Duck egg is both soft and feminine and pairs wonderfully with neutrals for a fresh, stylish space. Warmer tones such as chocolate brown, warm putty and dark beiges work brilliantly as they balance the cool tones of duck egg. For a more contemporary, elegant style use warm rosy pink tones or deeper shades like coral as an accent.
Duck egg is a classic colour that never really dates so consider using duck egg in bathrooms and bedrooms for its calming qualities. For living rooms why not paint the walls in soft duck egg then choose upholstery and flooring in warm neutrals before adding accents. If you would rather use duck egg as an accent then add cushions, throws, glassware and rugs to bring a hint of the colour.
